Demand Senator McConnell Protect Private Firearms Sales

Fellow Gun Rights Supporter,

With election season in full swing it’s easy to be distracted by Tea Parties, summer parades and baseball pennant races, but I have to warn you:  Gun banners are planning a sneak attack.

They’re trying to ban all private firearm sales while you’re “distracted” living your everyday life this summer.

Billionaire-playboy NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his cronies at the Brady Campaign are making a desperate push to jam through the Bloomberg-Brady Ban on Private Firearm Sales (S. 843) in the next few WEEKS.

Their plan is to force the Ban on Private Gun Sales Bill through now, ahead of the midterm elections while they still have huge gun-grabbing majorities in Congress.

The gun-grabbers have gone all-in.

Mayor Bloomberg has committed millions of dollars from his personal fortune to fund a television ad campaign to force wavering lawmakers to back the Bloomberg-Brady Ban on Private Firearm Sales.  If you would like to watch their video, click here.

I need you to sign the petition below to Senator Mitch McConnell and demand he publicly oppose the Bloomberg-Brady Ban on Private Firearm Sales (S. 843).

As Senate Minority leader, Senator McConnell holds a great deal of sway over the Senate Republican caucus.

Despite hailing from pro-gun Kentucky, McConnell has gone out of his way to snub gun owners:

* McConnell voted twice to prohibit the private sale of firearms at gun shows.

- May 13th & 14th, 1999, McConnell voted against tabling and for passage of Hatch-Craig amendment to an anti-gun juvenile crime bill (S. 254).

* McConnell voted to waste taxpayer dollars on a study to determine the feasibility of banning certain kinds of ammunition, including popular hunting rounds like the .30-06.

- March 2nd, 2004, McConnell voted for the Ammunition Ban Study amendment to S. 1805.

* McConnell voted in favor of banning young adults from even handling their parent’s semi-automatic firearms.

- May 13th, 1999, McConnell voted for the Young Adult Gun Ban Bill (S. 254).

* McConnell voted to require gun owners to submit you Brady background check.

- May 20th 1999, McConnell voted for the Smith amendment.

As you can see, Mitch McConnell isn’t a “trusted vote on gun issues.”  In fact, he’s very poor.

That’s why it’s vital you sign the petition below to put the heat on Senator Mitch McConnell.

For Freedom,

Executive Director
National Association for Gun Rights

To Senator Mitch McConnell:

Whereas:        Radical anti-gunners like Michael Bloomberg and Sarah Brady are demanding that Congress close the so-called "gun show loophole;" and,

Whereas:        The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects the rights of Americans to buy and sell firearms without the permission of government; and,

Whereas:        Closing the so-called "gun show loophole" will lead to a ban on private firarms sales even between family members; and,

Whereas:        Any attempt to close the so-called “gun show loophole” will be viewed by gun rights voters as an attempt to pander to anti-gun extremists bent on banning all private firearms sales;

Therefore:      I insist you support the Constitution by opposing S. 843 and any other legislation that would ban private firearms sales.
